Fortune 500 Intrapreneur. COO. CTO. Portfolio Board Member. Cyberneticist.
Strategic Builder. AI Innovator. Revenue Generator. Creative Thinker. Talent Connector.
Loatis founder John Paul is a seasoned TMT executive with a track record of successfully building and operating emerging media and B2C telco, AI, and data businesses.
John’s diverse 30-year career across the U.S., Europe, and Australasia has included holding C-suite/Board-level roles within Fortune 500 companies and advising small-mid cap companies and his own startup to IPO or acquisition. John’s wide-ranging expertise includes strategic partnering, industry collaborations, product development, digital transformation, advanced consumer and network technologies, advertising, and consumer AI & data. While Loatis is a solo advisory, engaging with John means tapping into the exceptionally strong global network that has enabled him to repeatedly build creative, high-energy teams and industry collaborations that drive genuine value creation.
Prior to establishing Loatis in 2025, John spent 10 years in London accelerating growth at Liberty Global in roles that included Managing Director for Emerging Business, where he led the Liberty Sandbox incubation hub; COO; and CTO. John was previously CTO at Special Broadcasting Service (SBS) Australia, COO at Australia Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), and VP of Asia Pacific for United GlobalCom (now Liberty Global). He currently serves on the Advisory Boards for Adgile, Ad Curatio, Broadlab, and MassiveBlue.io.
The increasingly significant role of AI in John’s work at Liberty led to a deep interest in cybernetics, the interdisciplinary human-centered science that laid the groundwork for many of AI’s core ideas. In 202X, he earned an MS in Digital Anthropology (Cybernetics) from University College London and expects to earn his PhD in 2026.

Cybernetics:
Challenge your thinking
Why a cybernetic approach is critical for modern value creation
Cybernetics is the science of control and communication in complex systems such as computers, the human body, ecological systems, information systems, government and human cultures. Combining the practices of engineering and social sciences delivers more profitable and sustainable outcomes. AI and LLM’s are inherently human and cultural - so a cybernetic approach to consumer data (for example) ensures the law of of unintended consequences is reduced and outcomes are more immediately bankable.
